Weighing in at 5,488 pounds, the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 four door Crew Cab pickup truck has been awarded a 5 star rating in driver and passenger front crash tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The truck tested was equipped with side impact curtain air bags, which did help the pickup trucks score.
