I've been a mechanic most of my adult life and I would never believe this if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. One of my buddies, who by the way is a diesel mechanic, pulled his clutch fan off his f-150 4x4 because it was froze up and not working properly. He pulled the fan on friday. He was going to purchase a new fan clutch on monday. My nephew got stuck on our lease friday afternoon and my friend with the f-150 had a brain fart and took his truck to pull nephew out "without a fan" several beers later he got my nephew out , cut several donuts, and drove 2 miles back to the house. Meanwhile his radiator hose blew off the radiator, dumped all the water out of his motor. The motor quit pulling on the trip home. We all knew he had fried his engine. The next monday he replaced the hose and put a new fan on. Since then the truck runs just like it did when it was new. His brother has pulled FEMA campers from here in mississippi to texas, four times. Used no oil, did not smoke. Un-freakin-believable. It was a 5.4 Triton motor. I'm 51 years old and am amazed by this. Makes my heart feel better as I have no experience with this motor and I just bought one for my wife.
