If the DPFE sensor is aluminum pull the to hoses off of it and see if there is white corrosion coming out of it it needs to be replaced very possible it need to be replaced, alot of times they split the new ones are plastic

insuf flow is due to the port being plugged with carbon, remove egr valve and chip thru the carbon till you can run a coat hangar wire all the way thru port to opening behind throttle body, if you open throttle body just behind the plate you will most likely see the carbon build up hangin in a lump, if ran with plugged ports to long it can effect the dpfe sensor, diferentai lpressure feed back egr its aluminum block with 2 vacuum lines connected to it, egr purpose is to cool combustion chamber with exaust gas to lower emissions levels.

I dont know what these people keep rambling about..Im a mechanic and have replaced a shit load of the DPFE sensors because of this. You usually get 2 codes.Egr excessive flow, and Egr insufficient flow detected. But sometimes you do only get 1 of the 2. I have NEVER had any carbon in any of those 2 hoses(on the trucks) that come off the manifold tube to the Egr or the Egr itself being plugged. I have seen it on others though. I have probably replaced over a hundred of these. The aftermarket ones seems to last longer than the factory ones. You can tell the difference by the side of the DPFE..If aluminum, There will be a machined smooth spot on the side where the factory numbers used to be. They run anywhere from $45-$65 depending where you go. To test the egr itself,, with the engine running run a vacuum pump to the port on the Egr,pump it up if the engine stumbles the valve is working. You also have to test the egr solenoid for vacuum output...Rarly does the egr position on top of the egr go bad. Going by history Id say the DPFE is whats causing this...Good luck
