A refferal is how many members said you reffered them to the site. They have to put your username in that part of the page when they make thier account , and it has to be spelled exactly like your user name appears, so you get the refferal. Rating is a numeric value where other members have rated you. If you go to someones page and see the boxes in the left side of thier page "send message, rate user , etc. you can rate that member from one to ten with that button.
