For those that didnt know ...... on May 13th (friday the 13th) I broke my neck in a Jeep accident out in Richloam (green swamp ) . Since then I have been doing rehabilitation and work for my therapy .

The best therapy I had was rebuilding my 76 CJ7 :)

Me being a family man and the accident falling shortly before fathers day ..... it hit me hard ! My wife and kids were in the car behind me when the drag link gave out on a right hand turn ...... sending me straight into the trees . The kids still cry when I start the jeep and take it for a spin . I try explaining to them that its like riding a horse . "If it kicks you off .... you have to get back on and ride !" They are getting better as well as the wife but to be honest ..... its a real eye opener to what can actually happen when having fun . It wont stop me and am looking forward to this years mud season to go do some swamping .

Since then , I have replaced the whole front clip, radiator, windshield frame and windshield , front springs (bent ) and its really close ! Just need my Z bar , racing seats and harnesses .

I just thought I would share and maybe , just maybe ... it would help me to talk about it a bit in here .

Hope everyone has a great mudding season as it is coming up very quickly ....oh yeah ....be safe !

thanx for reading

Dang man. Good luck with everything. You sound like my step father... he rides and trains horses for a living .. some of the worst stuff I've ever seen has happened to him from em. But like you said he always gets back up (after recoperation) and rides.

Glad that your ok and getting "back in the saddle"

I sorta know how your wife/kids feel ...after jaggedsmoke's (my hubby) accident on bike  I was paraniod as h3ll over anything and everything because I almost lost him

When he went back to work I drove him for the first couple weeks and when he finally decided he needed to drive himself I was pretty much in a panic attack sorta state til be would call and say he was at work and made it ok

Workin on your stuff is great theropy his want to drive his truck in the first local much bog really helped him get out and moving he started out doin small things in the house like rebuilding the carb then working his way up to droppin his 460 in and he made it to the bog so it was awesome

It honistly takes time to get over the paranoia and trama of almost losing  someone you love I still get nervious If he goes somewhere and is gone longer then hes said he'd be because thats what happend the day he wrecked he and I was actually the one that found him after I realised he was gone way too long when for gettin the mail.
