Heres a story for yall.... This was about a month after I got my Jeep. It was bone stock then and I was still relatively new to offroading so I spent most of my time splashin around in construction sites and ditches. Its also the first time I got stuck. I broke my cherry. I was just pickin up my buddy and we were headin to the derby and had about an hour to kill, so I headed out to a huge construction site about ten minutes from my house. It had just poured the night before so it was nice and sloppy. So were there for fifteen-twenty minutes and found a pretty nice sized "pit" and I go through it 4 or 5 times no problem. 6th time, not so lucky... I went in a little off the line I had been using and immediately sunk in all the way to my bumpers. This is where I learned lesson 1: Dont wheel alone. So I look around the site for anything I can throw in to try and get traction... nothing I tried worked. Found a shovel and started digging. FUCK THAT. Time to make some phone calls. I call my buddy that we were supposed to be meeting at the derby and he comes out and helps the best he can, but he only has a 2WD Ranger. Nothing. Everyone else I call cant come help me out so I call my sister and she calls some friends. One girl that she works with sends her brother out with an F150 FX4... this is a guy who I never met before and he comes from about 60 miles away to do this, thats a stand up guy if you ask me. So were out there waitin for him to save the day for about an hour and a half... We missed the derby at this point. But he shows up and pulls me out no problem. So I say thank you yada yada yada, offer to pay for his gas and everything and were just out there bull???ting and somehow it comes up that he could DEFINETELLY make it through where I got stuck! I tell him not to bother tryin cuz my Jeep wouldnt be able to pull his truck out if he got stuck.  Does he listen to me? Of course not! And what happens?!?! STUCK!...to the frame. So obviously I try to snatch him outta there.. nothing. Me and my buddies Ranger... nothing. At this point we exhausted all our resources so we have to call a tow truck which was an adventure in and of itself... first few companies we called wouldnt do anything because it was private property that we were tresspassing on or some bull???. When we finally found one that would do it they said it was $150 just to show up then up to the driver what to charge after that depending on how difficult it was for him to recover. And to top it off they didnt have a driver availablefor 4 HOURS! We had already been there 3. We were screwed we had to take it. So what to do for 4 hours. Order a pizza of course!  So we order a pizza FOR DELIVERY! When the delivery guy shows up we pay for the pizza and tell him well give him 20 bucks to to a gas station up the road and get us a a couple cases of beer (Im old enough to buy it but wasnt gonna leave this guy alone in a field 60 miles from his house) and HE DOES!!! So here we are in a construction site just about in the middle of nowhere with 4 guys 1 pizza 2 cases of beer and a stuck truck. We partied our asses off til the tow truck got there. The look on his face when he pulled up was CLASSIC. He ended up charging us 200 bucks to get the F150 out. Which I paid half of. Well the gist of it is.... We were out there about 8 hrs and missed the derby. But im not sorry about it in any way... It was probably the most fun ive had in five years.

sweet guys... but yeah...

I have a 2007 Ranger, 2wd stock... right... so my boyfriend and I were bored one night and we were driving around in my truck and he was like hey I know some trails around here and your truck wouldn't get stuck cause they're not that bad wanna go ? so I'm like sure why not I love doing ??? like that... hahaha... so we go out and we're bumping around this lil place and as we get farther into it there is sand... I'm like ok this is not good... we start ???ing sliding and ??? and then we get stuck... we give it some gas and jimmy the truck a lil and it's fine... we go maybe all of 5 feet and just rock bottom into the sand... I looked at my boyfriend and was like I'll get out and try to push you just keep driving... so we are stuck up to the ???ing axle... hahaha... we spent like an hour trying to get the ??? out of there... we found and old door and tried to use it for traction but no deal... so then we start to dig it out and that never ???ing works... so we are sitting there looking at each other sitting in the sand... and my boyfriend calls his brother-in-law who has a 4x4 Expedition... we waited for them to get there like 30 minutes... the whole time I'm playing in the sand sitting on the door... my boyfriend is still trying to dig out the wheel... every once in a while scanning the area with his ginormous flashlight looking kind of paniced...

finally Michelle and Steve get there with the Expedition and pull us out... on the way home I'm like wtf were you looking for with the flashlight and he tells me there were bums back there... it was a ridiculous night...

we went back to the same spot my lil 2wd truck got stuck... but this time we had the new truck... and that thing is a BEAST... it's a 2006 F-350 Quad Cab long bed... 4x4 made it through that shht easy, and the sand was worse this time because it's been so dXmn dry... but that shht was fun... thinking of going back the weekend we come back from Washington... just hopefully not alone again that shht is scary... haha...

oh man, have i been there.  That's why i built a muddder and race it at the track.  Not anything against crawling around in the trees and streams, I love that too.  I jacked up my 1980 GMC 3/4 ton and put a whale of a small-block in it.  550 horse-power, 100 octane gas,( smells good!)  I goofed around the motorcross track with it and drove it on the highway to break it in, and figured i would take it to the county fair truck pull.  A couple of my friends had pulled there a year before, and loved it. So i switched the tires to smaller 31 x 10.50's and I hooked up to the sled ( which weighed 26,500 pounds, )  and promptly got my butt kicked.  I rolled out of the clutch, got some momentum, and held the thing wide open.  184 feet, 15 feet of ugly wheel-hop later, i took 2nd to last place.  The only guy i beat was a guy in a Dodge who twisted an axle.  I was really disappointed, but I came back saturday to the mud drags.  After switching back to 35's i went through 120 feet of mud 2-3 feet deep, i took home 2nd place in my division out of 18 trucks. The only truck that beat me was a Toyota with a Chevy v-8.  I hate toyotas.  freakin' toyotas.  Moral of the story is, lift-kits suck at the sled pulls,  and if you suck at one sport, chin up and try another, you never know................
